Southern Local is blessed to have 3 counselors serving students and staff. During National School Counselors Week we would like to acknowledge the great job that they do and the tremendous impact that they have on our students, staff and learning community. We are fortunate to have a counselor who focuses on each of the three grade bands, elementary, middle school and high school. Each grade band is unique in its challenges, but they handle everything professionally, including educational and career exploration, counseling, collaborating, testing, among many other duties. They are an asset to the entire district and make us stronger through their dedication and efforts. We appreciate them daily, but especially would like to recognize them this week.
We will have a presentation this upcoming week for grades 3 thru 12 with David Kohout. This program focuses on building character and establishing confidence in young people. We are looking forward to his message and our continued growth throughout the district with social and emotional learning.
