SALINEVILLE-Southern Local High School senior Wyatt Morris has been chosen as the Salineville Kiwanis Student of the Month for January.
Morris, the son of Mark and Sam Morris of Salineville, has demonstrated exemplary athletic achievement throughout his high school career. This year he earned First Team All-Ohio Division VII, First Team All-Quad County Football Association, First Team All-Northeast Inland District Division VII, All-Northeast Inland Division VII Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, First Team All-Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, First Team All-Columbiana County All-Stars, First Team All-Area Morning Journal, Morning Journal Defensive Player of the Year, WTOV-9 Big 22 Player of the Year nominee, All-YSN Football Team and YSN Football Big Dog of the Year.
He is in the precision machining and manufacturing program at Columbiana County Career and Technical Center.
“Wyatt has become a leader among his peers, and he has grown to take the initiative to redirect other students when their behavior does not meet expectations,” said Matt Peters, precision machining and manufacturing instructor at CCCTC.
Following graduation, Morris plans to continue his education and work in the precision machining and manufacturing industry.
